The HSUS has informed us that there is a bill for consideration by our legislators to open more captive hunting ranches in Georgia.
These captive hunts or “canned hunts” as they are called, are private facilities where customers kill semi-tame animals trapped in enclosures for trophies.
The animals have no way to escape and these so-called “hunters” can’t miss killing them. The captive exotic animals can also spread disease among our native wildlife population.
The HSUS asks that you make a polite call to your state senator and urge opposition to Senate Bill 188. Call Georgia Senator Jason Carter at 404 403 1376 to voice your opposition.
We are also strongly opposed to any captive hunting operations.
