Nathan J. Winograd is the Executive Director of the No Kill Advocacy Center which promotes shelter reform and protection for animals.
Nathan graduated Stanford Law School and was formerly a criminal prosecutor and a corporate attorney.
Nathan has lectured through the United States and internationally in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and the Czech Republic on ethical animal sheltering. He has appeared on TV and radio and has been featured in articles in national magazines.
Nathan’s book, Redemption, has won 5 national book awards. His second book, Irreconcilable Differences, is a collection of essays continuing the theme of Redemption on creating a No Kill nation.
Under Nathan’s guidance, as executive director of the Tompkins County New York SPCA, the shelter became the first rural No Kill center in the U.S.
Nathan has been a practicing vegan for the past 20 years. His wife Jennifer has co-authored a book “All American Vegan”, with him, to be released in 2011. See more about veganism: Animal Rights and Your Food
