Million Dollar Dog

A red Tibetan Mastiff now claims the title of the World’s Most Expensive Dog.

It is reported that a coal baron from the north of China paid $1.5 million for the 11 month old, 180 lb. puppy. His name is Hong Dong which means Big Splash in English.

The Tibetan Mastiff, an ancient breed, was though to be owned by both Genghis Khan and Buddha. This intelligent, protective breed is believed to bring its owners health and security.

Tibetan Mastiffs bred in England are smaller than those bred in China. They have been known in times long ago to guard whole villages.

Red Tibetan Mastiffs are considered symbols of great wealth in China.
