Flagfin (Threespot) Angelfish

The Flagfin Angelfish is found along the East African coastline, to Sri Lanka and the Maldives and the western topical Pacific including southern Japan and Australia. It is a medium to hard fish to keep. It is more likely to thrive in a reef-type system with plenty of invertebrate-encrusted live rock. Younger specimens and specimens not from the Philippines have a better chance of surviving in a home aquarium.

The males are 10.2 in., and the females slightly smaller. The flagfin will try to avoid territorial aggression, but best to keep singly. It shouldn’t be kept with other angelfish. Tank size is a minimum of 120 gal. Feed mysis, artemia (frozen), flake food, freeze dried red mosquito larvae, and enchytrae.
