The Goldflake Angelfish, also known as the Gold-spangled or Gold-spotted Angelfish, is an extremely beautiful fish. It has a colorful spot around its mouth and gold spots all over its body. Males are 10 in., females slightly smaller. It is found in the tropical Pacific Ocean.

This fish is capable of taking care of itself; it’s best to keep only one as it can be aggressive and territorial. The minimum tank size is 90 gal. If you want to keep two you should have about 180 gallons. The Goldflake Angelfish is a good candidate for a community aquarium or mixed with other Angels in a large aquarium.

The Goldflake angelfish is a omnivore and likes to eat marine algae, mysid shrimp, Spirulina, sponges, and other meaty treats. Like all large angels, the Goldflake will require feeding with live sponges or a sponge based prepared food.
