Airdales are oringally from York, England and named after the river Aire, in Yorkshire. They were primarily bred for hunting bears and wolves.

Airedales are medium sized dogs with bristly hair that protects the dog from moisture. The coat color is brown with black markings. They have small dark eyes and v-shaped ears.
