Book Review: Without Regret

Without Regret – a Handbook for Owners of Canine Amputees

by Susan Neal

This book is written for owners of dogs that have had to have a limb amputated due to illness, birth defects, accidents. It is written with compassion, always bearing in mind the feelings of owners and their dogs. As a former owner of a tripawd (my dear friend Timo had cancer and went to the Rainbow Bridge on July 23, 2009), I found this book invaluable. In it, you will find information, if you are contemplating amputation for your dog or if your dog is already an amputee, what to expect and how to care for your tripawd until the time you must say goodbye. I found this book to be a tremendous help during a very difficult time. For those of you faced with this situation, it is a must read.
