March 26, 2012 – Virbac AH Inc. announced a voluntary recall of Iverhart Max Chewable Tablets. The product recalled is:
Iverhart Max Chewable Tablets, Lot # 110482, Large 50.1-100 lbs.
No other products are included in the recall.
Virbac notified the FDA of the recall and in turn, veterinarians were told to stop dispensing this product.
During a routine testing, Virbac said that the ingredient, ivermectin, did not meet their required stability specifications. Therefore some dogs may not be protected against heartworm.
