The word Bogle, sometimes spelled boggle or bogill is Scots for a bad-tempered mythical creature who tormented children who misbehaved. However in the case of the dog, Bogle is a mix of Boxer and Beagle.
What does the Bogle look like?
The Bogle closely resembles its parents, the Boxer and the Beagle. It is a medium size dog weighin 50-60 lbs. Head, chest and lips are similar to the Boxer. The longer body and ears are from the Beagle. The tail is moderately long and tapering. The coat is short and sleek. Colors are fawn, black, tan, tri-color, white with black or brown markings or brindle. Occasional brushing is all that’s needed to rid the coat of dead hairs.
What is the temperament of the Bogle?
The Bogle is an active, happy dog. They should have early obedience training to avoid bad habits. Early consistent socialization will halp the Bogle to get along with other pets, but they may be dog-aggressive. They get along well with children although should be supervised as these dogs are jumpers when excited. Bogles need daily vigorous walks. They will adapt to living where you do. Bogles are loyal, loving companions.
