In the 1950s the Moscow Toy Terrier was developed from many dogs that were not purebred and from the English Toy Terrier, the long-haired Chihuahua and the Papillon. It is also known as the Russian Toy Terrier and the Moscovian Miniature Terrier.

The Moscow Toy Terrier is 8-10 inches tall and weighs from 3-6 lbs. Eyes are large. Ears are erect and triangular. While hair is long on the ears, the coat is short. Colors are black, tan, red or sable, sometimes with small white spots on the chest and toes. Brush the fur gently.
