The FDA has cautioned against the use of unapproved animal product, Douxo Seborrhea Shampoo (0.1% phytosphingosine) distributed by Sogeval Laboratories, Inc. of Coppell, Texas after recently receiving a report of the death of a woman associated with the use of the product on her dog. There is a voluntary recall of certain lots of canned cat food by Wellpet LLC, due to possible insufficient levels of thiamine (vitamin B1). Cats fed only the affected lots may be at risk for a thiamine deficiency which can cause gastrointestinal or neurological problems.
