ALERT – Soy Recall

Thumb Oilseed Producer’s Cooperative of Michigan is recalling 2,623 50lb. bags and 350, 1500 lb. totes of soybean flour and 924, .08 ton loads of soy meal due to possible salmonella contamination.

These soy products are used in the manufacture of both human and animal food.

No pet food recall has been announced as yet. However, the North County Gazette.org reported that 2 dogs, Zen and Coal, along with their owner are ill and it is linked to the recalled soy.

It is advised that you check labels on pet food for soy bean products. Call the manufacturer to check if the soy products were purchased from Thumb Oilseed Producer’s Cooperative. Do not feed your pet any food containing a soy ingredient until your know the source.
