The Harrier is a medium size dog, 19-21 inches tall, weighing 45-60 lbs. depending on gender. Ears are low-set, pendant with rounded tips. Feet are cat-like. The long tail is carried high. The coat is smooth and short. Colors are all colors of dogs. The coat needs only occasional brushing to remove dead hairs.

Harriers are amiable and tolerant dogs. Used to being in a pack, the Harrier gets on well with other dogs. As they are hunters, they may see other pets as prey.
