A tarantula's diet is mainly gut-loaded crickets along with other insects. Gut-loaded means the crickets are fed a nutritious diet and dusted with vitamins before feeding. Meal worms and roaches can supplement feed occasionally. Although not necessary, large tarantulas can be fed tiny mice. The food needs to be smaller than the tarantula especially during molting season, so as not to harm your pet. Be sure that the insects you feed have not been exposed to pesticides as these will enter your tarantula's body too.
