The Netherland Dwarf Rabbit is a member of the Compact Body Type. Netherlands were first bred in the early 1900s in Netherlands. Their debut in the U.S was in the 1960s.
Netherlands weight about 2 1/2 lbs. as adults. The head is small and round. The face is flat with large round eyes. Ears are no more than 2 inches long. Eyes can be blue, orange, white. The coat comes in a variety of colors.
Netherlands can be independent and can be nippy. This behavior can be controlled with gentle, kind training. Modern breeding has made them more gentle in nature. However they are not really suitable pets for young children. When afraid or upset they thump their back legs.
