The Danish-Swedish Farmdog originated in the Scandinavian countries of Denmark and Sweden. The breed was officially recognized by the Danish Kennel Club (DKK) and Swedish Kennel Club (SKK) in 1987. The breed was recently recognized by the FCI, though it remains in provisional status.
In January 2011 the Danish-Swedish Farmdog was accepted into the AKC-FSS program. As of January 2012 there are about 200 Danish-Swedish Farmdogs in the USA.
What are the Danish-Swedish Farmdog’s vital statistics?
A DSF is about 30–39 cm tall with a compact body. The head is rather small and triangular with a well emphasized stop. The coat is hard, short and smooth in texture, with white as a dominating color, with one or several patches of different color combination. The tail could be long, half bobtail or bobtail.

The Danish–Swedish Farmdog is a very friendly, easygoing breed. It is high energy and enjoys being given a job to do. The breed is quick and has excellent mousing skills. Danish–Swedish Farmdogs have recently begun to appear in dog agility competitions.

It works on farms herding livestock and alerting to intruders. It is also a companion to adults, and is known to befriend and play with the children of the household.
