Exotic pets are not tame. If you really want an exotic pet you must thoroughly research your choice and then decide if you are prepared time-wise and financially to give the proper care - food, shelter, enrichment, veterinary care. Among popular exotics today are sugar gliders, chinchillas, hedgehogs, alligators, Fenne foxes, kinkajous, squirrel monkeys, ball pythons, Mona monkeys, reticulated pythons, white lions. You have to check the laws in your area as most of these "pets" are illegal to own in most places.
My personal opinion - these creatures and any others considered exotic or wild belong in their natural habitats, not in someone's home. Sadly most of them don't live very long because of improper care or abandonment.
