Ms. Hillenbrand has written a magical book about a horse that while short in stature, stands hands above all other racehorses. Ms. Hillenbrand makes you feel as though you were there throughout the ups and downs of Seabiscuit’s career along with owner Charles Howard, incredible trainer, Tom Smith dubbed “The Lone Plainsman” and jockey Red (John) Pollard. Ms. Hillenbrand understands horses and the racing game in particular and her style of writing brings one to smiles and tears. As an American legend about the underdog making good, this is a must read.
