Is it okay that my dog eats grass?

+2 votes

Every day when I take my dog for a walk, he stops and makes a meal of a patch of grass. Is this bad for him? Is he missing something in his diet? Should I stop him or just let him do what he's doing?

There's a lot of speculation about why dogs eat grass. Among them are such explanations as help for an upset stomach, missing greens, they like the taste and more. But no one knows why for sure. Eating grass that is chemical free won't hurt your dog. But if s/he vomits often, have your dog examined by a vet to make sure there are no underlying medical reasons for the problem.
