Are flea collars really safe?

+1 vote

We've has a horrible year with fleas this year. I've been thinking about using a flea collar. Should I? What are the alternatives?

I  would have ,to say no. The odor and chemicals emanating from the collars can   be dangerous not only  to pets,  but to  humans too. They can irritate a pet's neck area causing loss of fur and even infections. Try natural products such as those containing cedar oil, melrose oil, or Natural Defense spot-ons. Check with your holistic vet about diluting oils and amounts to use.
