How often do I need to give my cat shots?

+1 vote

I have a cat the gets a bump at the injection site, when she gets immunized. I've heard that some cats can get cancer from getting shots. Is this true? Do I have anything to worry about? Can I just skip giving her shots?

There is an ongoing  controversy about vaccines and diseases such as cancer. The latest guidelines say that pets only need to be vaccinated every 3 years, although rabies vaccinations are according to the law in your area. You can have titers done which are blood tests for certain vaccines that check antibodies in the blood. Changing the site of the vaccination may help too.
