What is the difference between a gecko and a salamander?

Geckos are in the reptile family while salamanders arer amphibians. Very young salamanders live in water. As adults, which can take a long time to happen, they live in material such as soil which can be kept moist. Geckos are land creatures that require very warm habitats.
