Do shock collars work?

Yes, they do work to stop an unwanted behavior.  But what they don't do is to get to the root of why the dog is behaving  that way. There are positive ways to change a dog's behavior without resorting to cruel treatment. It might work short-term, but it is a painful lesson and you could lose the trust of your dog.
