Yes, you should cool it, but do so gradually as sudden change can hurt your pet. Have a thermometer in the tank and check it regularly to make sure the temperature is correct. If you have a heater in the tank, check it too to make sure it's not broken. You can place an umbrella or some type of shade over the tank. Use a fan to gently blow cool air towards the tank.
