There are a variety of enclosures for ball pythons. A glass terrarium is the most common cage. They come in different sizes and are inexpensive. Plastic cages are another choice, some even have built-in heating and lighting. You can make your own cage, but you must be knowledgeable about the snake's requirements for it to remain healthy. Owners who have more than one snake often stack cages, one on top of the other. You can start off with a 10 gallon cage, but when your snake grows to adulthood, it will need a 30 gallon cage.
