I've heard that birds mate for life. Is that true?

Some species of birds do mate for life, but not all birds do. Some examples of those that mate for life are the Bald Eagle, Layan Albatross, Mute Swan, Scarlet Macaw, Whooping Crane, California Condor, Atlantic Puffin, Black Vulture, Great Horned Owl, Osprey, to name a few.
