Can you use atrifical turf in a fish tank?

We have gravel at the bottom of the tank and it's getting pretty dirty. I want to change it. Instead of putting more gravel, I thought about using artificial turf. Is this a good idea? Could it be dangerous for the fish? Is ther a reason not to do it?

Yes, it floats easily. Also it's so small that if you have a big enough fish it could get stuck in their gills. You can trry sand, or large gravel which is easier to clean. :)
