Should we get a second cat?

Introduce him to other cats first and see if he likes them, if he does then go ahead and get another one!

I agree that another cat should be introduced to the present cat. But it's a great idea to get another one. Cats are social creatures and although they sleep up to 18 hours a day,  having a playmate works well for them. It encourages socialization and gives them needed exercise. And you're rewarded with double the fun and the love.
