How can I tell the age of my cockatiel?

I got a cockatiel from a pet store. They told me that they think he's around 2 years old. How can I tell what his age really is?

Unless your cockatiel is very young, 6 months or less, it's almost impossible to tell its age or that of most birds. An avian veterianarian may be able to give you an educated guess, but it's only a guess. Cockatiels are great pets, I have one too. Just enjoy him. Some will learn to say a few words or imitate whistles.
