How many cats are too many?

For cat lovers, this can be a difficult question to answer. Cats do benefit from the companionship of another cat. Keep in mind that more than 3 or up to 5 cats together are enough to keep track of any illnesses or other problems that may arise. The cats should be able to get along with each other or at least be friendly if not friends. I would say go for the stray kitty, but keep your number of cats at 5.
