Which cut of hay should I feed my horse?

I've hear that there is a 1st, 2nd and 3rd cut of hay. What's the difference and which should I feed my horse?

The first cut of hay can include stems which are more difficult to chew and digest. Hay should always be cut in warm, dry weather. Whichever combination of hays is recommended for your horse, always check the bale. If necessary, cut it open and make sure you don't feel heat, a white dust or black areas that could mean mold.
