Can I take my bird's cage outside?

+1 vote

I let my bird out of his cage in my house for short periods of time. Is it OK for me to take my birds cage outside on nice days so that he can get some sunshine and fresh air or am I asking for trouble?

Yes, you can take your bird in his cage outside. It's even good for him with a few cautions. Make sure the cage is closed securely and your bird cannot escape. While sunlight is good for your bird, start off slowly, a few minutes at a time in the sun. Keep  him in the sun for a maximum of no more than 15-20 minutes. Never leave your bird unattended outdoors - you never know when a cat or other creature is on the prowl.
