My horse is a 2-year-old filly. How often should I be exercising her?

Horses really aren't ready for a full workout until they are about 5 years old, when their bone structure is solid. Start your 2 year old off slowly with about 20 minutes, 5 minutes of which can be vigorous exercise. You can increase the exercise gradually over a period of time. Have a veterinarian check your horse regularly to make sure the amount and type of exercise isn't doing any damage. Watch your horse for any signs of tiring during exercise.
