Horses eat about one and a half to three and a half percent of their normal body weight. The difference in the amount fed is due to the activity of the horse. A working horse needs the higher amount while a horse that is not as active should be fed the lower amount. Fresh hay should always be available. Horses love to graze. You can purchase containers of horse feed. Ask your vet about adding supplements.
