At what age do you ween kittens?

My cat had kittens a few weeks ago and we would like to look for homes for them, but we don't want to take them away from their mother before they are ready. How old should they be before they are weened?

Most kittens are weaned, llitterbox trained and ready for new homes at 12-16 weeks old. This gives mama cat time to train them in cat  behavior and time for you to socialize them.
