Answered: what to feed a pet bass

You can start off using fish flakes. But soon add either live or dried small crickets, earthworms or brine shrimp. You can vary the meals. Ask your local pet store, they probably carry the dried variety. Keep to a regular feeding schedule. Your bass may soon take the food from your hand.

Answered: How much time do I have to replace the air pump in my tank?

Actually, if the air pump is broken, the fish cannot go without air for more than a day. Have you tried cleaning the pump. Remove it from the tank and then take the filter and the sponge out of the back of the pump. Discard the filter screen and replace it. It's a good idea to keep a few screens and sponges in reserve. Rinse the sponge thoroughly. If it's too dirty, then replace it. Always check the air tubes so that if the pump does break, you can replace it within a day.

Answered: Does my tank need a lamp?

It depends on where your tank is placed. If there is enough bright light during the day, you probably don't need a bulb.. But if the tank is not getting outdoor light, it's a good idea to add a bulb.

Answered: How big a filer do I need for a 60 gallon tank?

Recommendations are for canister filters as they are quiet. For a 60 gallon tank, a Fluval 406 is best. It can filter up to a 100 gallon tank, but if you have a good number of fish, double the filtration is best..

Answered: Can you use atrifical turf in a fish tank?

Yes, it floats easily. Also it's so small that if you have a big enough fish it could get stuck in their gills. You can trry sand, or large gravel which is easier to clean. :)

Answered: Is it better to get a freshwater tank or a saltwater one?

If cost is important, saltwater fish and equipment can be more expensive. Of course any additions you make to a freshwater tank can bring up the cost as well. Saltwater tanks can be more colorful, but also a bit more work, adding salt and mixing it in when there are water changes. You can sometimes convert from fresh to salt water, but make sure the fish are correct for each one. Ultimately, you have to make the decision.

Answered: What kind of light bulb should I buy for my aquarium?

A 60 gallon tank usually uses a 48" fixture and bulb. Check the code printed on the fixture to make sure the diameter of the bulb will be the right fit. As with most purchases, you almost always get what you pay for, so quality should be your guide.
