In a word, NO! While they are adorable as babies and exhibit many human traits, they are wild animals. Infant chimps need 24 hour care which can only be provided by mother chimp. As adults they are much stronger than human adults and become destructive, unwilling to be disciplined and turn to aggression. They will bite and otherwise inflict physical damage to their humans. They are best left in the wild where they can happily live out their lives as nature intended.

Sand is the best! They love to burrow! The calcium sand clumps when it's wet, so get the regular sand. Also you can save a lot of money if you get a 50lb bag of playground sand for about $5. It works really well! Good luck!
